Week 3

Page 55-95

The event of finding a tree with peoples secrets hiding inside a hole in it's trunk is highly unlikley.  That is not something that would probably ever happen in real life and is very out of the ordinary. Which makes it hard to believe because that would never happen. " I found the piece of paper from a tree in the woods." page 67.  Something like this would probably never happen and thats why its important for the story because throughout it she finds secrets written on paper in the trunk of a tree.

The main character Paz and her friend Raymond, start sneaking around and spying on people in their neighbourhood to see who's secret is who's. I personally would not go around stalking people because its creep but i guess in her situation its what she had to do to figure it out. "Where's she sneaking off too?". page 84. They are spying on one of their neighbours, which they do quite frequently throughout the book.

Secrets

Each snowflake
holds a story
of what it used to be

In every twinkling crystal
lives a memory
of the sea

And every ocean drop
remembers when it once
was snow

Nature seems
so quiet
but i listen.

So i know.

This poem connects to my novel because the whole story line is how Paz finds peoples secrets written on notes in a tree trunk. I think this poem does a really good job of explaining how secrets are spread and never forgotten "every ocean drop remembers when it once was snow" explaining that water still remembers when it was frozen as snow and people will remember conversations they have had with others and certain comments will stick out and always be remembered.
